Disable Secure boot & UEFI

Última atualização 3 de mai. de 2026

🛠️ How to Disable Secure Boot and Enable UEFI (not Legacy BIOS)

⚠️ Make sure your OS supports UEFI.
Windows 8 and newer versions support it.
If you plan to reinstall the OS, your USB stick must also be in UEFI (GPT) format.

Step 1: Enter BIOS / UEFI

  • Restart your computer
  • During boot, press: F2, Del, Esc, F10, or F12 (depends on your hardware)
  • The BIOS/UEFI interface should open.

Step 2: Switch Boot Mode

  • Go to the Boot, Startup, or Boot Mode tab
  • Set Boot Mode → UEFI Only or UEFI
  • Set CSM → Disabled (if available)
  • If you see UEFI/Legacy Boot, choose UEFI

Step 3: Disable Secure Boot

  • Go to Security, Boot, Authentication, or Secure Boot section
  • Find Secure Boot and set it to Disabled

If Secure Boot cannot be changed:

  • Change OS Type from Windows UEFI mode to Other OS
  • Now Secure Boot should be editable

Step 4: Save and Exit

Press F10 → Select Save & Exit → Confirm Yes

📝 Notes

  • ✅ UEFI is enabled if Boot Mode = UEFI Only and CSM = Disabled
  • ❌ Secure Boot is disabled if Secure Boot = Disabled
